Grateful thanks to Leekes of Melksham for donating a sink and Wickes for donating the taps for our children’s kitchen area in the new build.  The continued support of local businesses is making our new building wonderful for the children.

27th August 2017

The last couple of weeks has seen much activity, we now have plasterboard and plaster on the walls and a roof!  The coming week will see the flooring start to go down, kitchen units and toilet fittings going in and hopefully the external cladding going on.

We have had a setback timing wise and as parents of the children starting in September now know our first two weeks for 3 to 5 year old children will take place in the Village Hall.  2 year old children will start w/c 18th September.

Cabinco have done their utmost to keep the build on track and our thanks go to them and their team for their hard work.  Thank also to the Village Hall for accommodating us for the start of term and their understanding.

The Guys have all been great and couldn’t be more accommodating to our ‘slight’ adjustments.  We are loving Cabinco.

During the last few weeks we have run a number of successful fundraising events with our stalls at the Hilperton Village Fete bringing in over £2200, an Acoustic Music Evening which raised over £600, the Pre-school Quiz Night making £300 and the Red Admiral Pub (George is indeed generous to our project) continuing to support us by raising £124 from a Rock and Roll Bingo Night.  In addition we have had some significant donations from families and friends of St. Michael’s Pre-school for which we are very grateful.  Without this continuing support our project would not have been possible.

Things are moving forward on the site of our new pre-school building with ground works completed and the footings and base virtually completed.  Scaffolding has been erected and early July should see the start of the main part of the building going up.

Visit the gallery page to see the plans of our building and pictures of the build as it happens.
